Gus Ruchman is a senior in Pforzheimer House from Cos Cob, CT. A lover of languages, he speaks conversational Kiswahili and Wolof. He is currently researching and writing a thesis about the late-Victorian construction of the Uganda Railway, examining topics such as labor, disease, and urban planning. Independently he is producing a documentary film about the professional and domestic life of a public health leader in Senegal. Gus hopes to work as a physician to solve global health issues, and will pursue his MD at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York.
