Food with Purpose: A Portrait of the Transitional Employment Program

Civry Melvin grew up here in Cambridge, MA, and is now a senior concentrating in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations with a secondary in Dramatic Arts.  Her final project which focuses on Jeremy Thompson and includes Schweitzer Fellow, Wyatt Posig. Jeremy is head of the Transitional Employment Program; a program at Haley House Bakery Cafe in Roxbury, MA. The program is dedicated to helping ex-prisoners become stable and productive members of society through fostering a supportive community, providing mentoring and counseling, and teaching the art and craft of baking chocolate chip cookies.
